GEW Hackathon Powered by Telkom Futuremakers 2021

The Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) Hackathon 2021, Powered by Telkom Futuremakers, challenged selected participants to ideate solutions to real-life problems faced by the startup and business world, with challenges in the following sectors: EdTech, FinTech, Gaming, Internet Software Solutions, Over-the-top (OTT) Media and Smart Homes.
Each challenge had a prize of R200k at stake, with a total of R1.2M prize money awarded at the hackathon. Winning teams will use the prize money to develop their solutions into a business. The hackathon took place at the 22 on Sloane campus in a hybrid format from 12-14 November 2021, and a total of 37 teams presented either physically or virtually on Sunday.
